What to expect from day training with Belle & Bark

Not all dog training needs to happen with you at the end of the leash. If you’re juggling work, family, or just need a little extra support, day training for dogs with Belle & Bark is designed to help. We’ll work directly with your dog while you focus on your day—and keep you fully in the loop as they learn new skills and build confidence.

Here’s how day training works, from your first booking to the lasting changes we build together.

It starts with booking a package and a 30-minute consult

Once you book a day training package, you’ll receive an intake form and a deposit request to confirm your spot. The form gives us helpful context about your dog’s routine, behaviours, and your goals.

We then schedule a 30-minute consultation—ideally in person—so we can meet your dog, assess their environment, and begin planning a tailored training program.

If an in-person consult isn’t possible, we’ll ensure the first session includes a proper hand-off and introduction from you. That way, your dog can start their training feeling safe and supported.

This meeting also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and set clear, realistic goals together.

Weekly sessions with a professional dog trainer

Each week, your trainer will visit your home for 60-minute one-on-one sessions with your dog. Depending on your goals and preferences, we may work with your dog two or three times per week.

You don’t need to be present during the training. These sessions are focused, goal-oriented, and designed to help your dog make consistent progress in their everyday environment—one of the key benefits of day training for dogs.

Day training sessions cover practical behaviours such as:

  • Loose leash walking
  • Calm greetings and impulse control
  • Settling around distractions
  • Door and visitor manners
  • Reactivity support
  • Handling for grooming or vet care

With day training with Belle & Bark, your dog gets consistent, supportive practice with a professional—right where real-life behaviours happen.

Detailed updates after every session

We believe communication is key. After each session, you’ll receive a written update outlining what we worked on, how your dog responded, and what we’ll focus on next.

When appropriate, we may also include video clips or photos so you can see your dog’s progress in action.

Our goal is to keep you involved and informed, even if you weren’t there during the session.

Transfer sessions to support long-term success

Each day training package includes transfer sessions— personalized meetings where we show you what your dog has learned and how to maintain it.

We’ll walk you through the new skills, coach you through real-life situations, and help you build confidence as your dog’s training partner. These sessions are low-pressure and tailored to your lifestyle, so everything feels manageable and clear.

Training that works for real life

If you’re short on time, feeling overwhelmed, or want help building a strong training foundation, day training for dogs can give you breathing room without sacrificing results. We handle the reps and troubleshooting so you can step in with a clear plan and a more confident dog.

Some clients stick with day training over the long term, while others transition to private sessions for ongoing coaching. Either way, we’ll support your goals and adapt as your dog’s needs evolve.

Book your day training consultation and let us create a program that fits your schedule and sets your dog up for success.
