Our approach

Behaviour is communication

Your dog’s behaviour offers valuable information about how they’re feeling, what they’ve learned, and what they need in that moment.

We consider their learning history, emotional state, environment, physical wellbeing, and daily routines. Together, these details help us understand what’s shaping the behaviour and create a practical plan for your dog and your family.

The plan may include new skills, changes to the environment, enrichment, cooperative care, and opportunities for choice. You’ll know what to look for, what to practise, and how to support progress between sessions.

Client experience

A clearer path forward

Her analysis of my dog’s ‘case’ was very thorough and thought out. Further, she provided a well-written, individualized, and detailed plan with lots of ideas, tips, and activities.

Within a few months, Titan vastly improved … Above all, Tabitha has a natural way with dogs: Titan took to her right away and was always excited to see her (me too).

What working together looks like

You’ll understand what we’re working on, why it matters, and what to do next.

01

We start with context

You’ll complete assessment forms before we meet, so we can review your dog’s history, health, routines, environment, and current behaviour.

02

We make the plan practical

During your session, we’ll focus on the priorities that matter most and turn the plan into clear steps that fit your home, schedule, and energy.

03

You practise with support

You’ll practise with coaching and get clear answers as questions come up. After the session, you’ll receive written guidance and relevant resources to help you continue.

04

Your support stays organized

Your client portal keeps your dog’s profile, shared resources, reports, and case updates in one place, so it’s easy to find what you need between sessions.

Meet your trainer

Hi, I’m Tabitha

I’m the founder and trainer at Belle & Bark. I help guardians make sense of behaviour, notice the details that matter, and build practical skills with their dogs.

Before founding Belle & Bark, I spent nearly two decades in technology and product management. That experience still shapes how I work: I ask careful questions, look for patterns, and turn complex information into clear, manageable plans.

My education includes dog trainer and animal behaviour certification through Dogue Academy, Family Dog Mediation, advanced study in dog aggression, and regular review of current behaviour research.

My professional memberships and continuing education keep me connected to current research, ethical practice, and other professionals in the field.
